Maybe Tomorrow

by Cuddles   May 1, 2006

Maybe tomorrow I'll work up courage.
Maybe tomorrow I won't be afraid.
Maybe tomorrow I'll confess the truth.
Then will this nauseous feeling go away?

Maybe tomorrow he'll see my soul
and all the feelings that I hide.
Maybe tomorrow I won't have to pretend
that his words don't hurt deep inside.

Maybe tomorrow he'll look at me
lovingly and with tender care.
And maybe tomorrow I can tell him
How much I miss him when he's not there.

Maybe tomorrow I'll stop trying to fool myself
into believing that this will happen.
Because every time I do that
my heart is a little more saddened.

This poem was very profound. I felt like I was reading thoughts about my most feared insucurities. I think you have touched on a topic that many can relate to very well. I think it is human nature for most to have these same thoughts.
