Like a child

by Cleo   May 1, 2006

Like a child
crouching in the depths of the musty cupboard
painfully aware of their every movement
straining to hear the tread upon the stair
the creak of the floorboard
trembling with excitement anticipation
and fear
of being found

dying to be lost yet
yearning to be found
