Moonlit Whispers

by VoiceOfTheSoul   May 3, 2006

We know the light,
the glimmering sphere,
as it rises in the night,
the crickets chirp loud and clear.

Stars sparkle,
planets gleam,
as the moon dust travels through
the night,
the fireflies aren't what they seem.

The gentle wind,
cradles the weeds,
as we lay upon them,
like a lamb in the grass.

We wait, we listen,
for the sound of the moonlit
whispers,
though as we listen,
we tend to smile, for we will
not be leaving for a while.

Beautiful. i like hou its freestyle, but still rhyming in some places. it gives it a flowing feel without being rhythmical.
