Garden of Aiden

by Absinth Eyes   May 4, 2006

Greeting cards scattering the ground
Fake roses drenched in rain
Gentle words carved in bold stone
Your name, your birthday, and this day

I whisper your name to no one
And run my fingers over the letters
The words spreading from the tips
To my hands, my arms, and into my chest

Your eyes were made from cobalt skies
But clouds had made them gray
Raining bad ideas and fancy words
In the wind that swept you away

Four years ago today
And there are still so many roses
No scent, no mortality, they just stick to the ground
Wet with the saltless tears of angels

I lay my hand on the sodden ground
Close to where yours just might be
A rose that will die on the marker of your fate
Amongst the bouquet around this bed

Paradise lost and decorated
One single rose to join your fate
My memories lay in forevers embrace
In the plastic flower garden of Aiden

~~Another one about someone I loved who is no longer here... RIP...~~

This si really sad but so hauntingly beautiful. You have a way of creating images that really brings them to life. I could almost touch things with you.
    Amazing talent and fitting tribute.
