It's Worth the Pain

by JL   May 5, 2006

Passed out unconscious
On the cold tile
Blood surrounding her
She has been here a while

It started out so simple
Loose a couple pounds
Puking once, twice a day
Satisfaction never found

No one seemed to notice
She kept going until the extreme
Fragile bones stretched over skin
Rotting teeth with no gleam

No period for months
Ignoring friends questions
Eating little or no food
To death she seemed destined

She can not stand her reflection
Beauty she forgets
She has found another pound
Off to the toilet

Reaching down her throat
Like she did before
Acid burns the way up
Esophagus a little more torn

Up comes soggy saltines
Mixed with blood and water
Everything starts to spin
Blood continues to be coughed up by her

Falling to the floor
With a sickly smile
In the morning she knows
It will have been worth the while

*written about my friend suffering from bulimia, I have tried time and time again to get her help, but she always convinces people she is fine*

I like your poem, it's very sincere. Maybe your friend should read it so she'll realize what she's doing with herself.
    Keep writing. 5/5
