Daddy's Girl

by JL   May 5, 2006

"I'm sorry I was so bad"
Tears stream from her eyes
"This is my fault"
Rain pours from the sky

Shuddering in the cold
"I'm sorry, so sorry"
Wind smacks her in the face
"It's all because of me"

"Daddy, can you hear me?"
She grips the picture tight
"Come back, please..."
Her cries go unheard in the night

Rain runs along the streets
"You are still my world"
Pounding down around her
"Am I still your little girl?"

"Am I still daddy's girl?"
Memories flash all around
"Do you forgive me?"
Getting closer to the ground

Falling into pools of mud
"Why, Daddy, Why?"
Sobbing uncontrollably
"Daddy, why did you die?"
