Cross As A Sword

by Echelon Eric   May 7, 2006

I think to myself over in vain
Is this truly a world God made?
A world of anguish, violence, and pain
In darkness we will all fade

Though I am defeated, I fight on
I pick up my sword to defend
My blade is a Cross and I shall swing and slash til I'm gone
I fight for the evil's end

I feel as a lone warrior
A samurai stripped of honor
But no matter what, I shall die with courage, my Lord
And my honor redeemed

When I suffer defeat
I no longer see myself as a hero
My shame drives me to exile, filled with sorrow
I have no will to fight again
My sword gathers dust
I become numb and rust
These losses haunt my days
That sword may never again be wielded

But the time has come I realize
To pick up my Cross and fight once more
To battle these creatures of pain, demons of demise
I raise my blade again ready to wage war

Eric that's wonderful! Very well written. Loved every word of it. I can't imagine that God wanted the world to turn out this way... and if he did... It was only to see who was strong enough to fight through it, and you are obviously strong enough to do that. 5/5 it was wonderful

Good write but if you believe in God, maybe waging war isn't in your best interest. I really liked the idea of a cross being your weapon however, even though it is somewhat contradicting

With God all things are possible. This world will never be perfect, but the good in it is worth fighting for.
