You Were There First

by Meggie33   May 9, 2006

You were there first, before him and him,
You were the one there, for that first midnight swim.

You were the one there, when nobody else would care,
Before anybody else came around, you were the one there.

You were there first, yes you were, yes you were,
I was there first too, before that girl, yeah, her.

I was there for you, through thick and thin,
I was definetly yours, and I have always been.

I was always there, and you know that it's true,
I have always been there, but only for you.

You were there first, so you have the right away,
You were here first, so leave me now, I can't stay.

I was yours before I was anyone else's so you can have me if you want,
We were here first, so don't tease and taunt.

I think this is very different, at first I didn't know what you meant by being here first, but as the poem went on it became clear. Good poem!
