Shall I Compare Thee to a Summer Night?

by The Phoenix Never Dies   May 12, 2006

Shall I Compare Thee to a Summer Night?
Shall I tell them your tale of lies and fame?
There are those who treasure your dark delights.
And I, I here will cry alone, for shame.
They tell of your eyes of deep night's blue-green.
They tell of your kiss, so sweet as always.
They do not know what hides beneath your eyes' gleam.
They do not know what's seen only in day.
Because without light we stumble too well,
Bitter minds, ever eager to believe,
Deny the truths that will unleash all hell,
And there you stand, so ready to decieve.
And so long as heartbreak leaves us so weak,
So long lives you, there so easy to seek.
