All Your Stupid Promises

Did you forget about all the letters
That you promised you would write
Or the promises you made to me
That you would call me on that night?

How about that one good promise
That has yet to be proven true.
I'll keep my word, my end of the deal
And I'll die here without you

But before I go, I just thought
It was about time for me to say
That every promise I've ever made
Will be carried out today

Let's review for a second, shall we?
It was about four months ago
When your picture was in the fire
And I fought to never let go

It was about five months ago
When my mom threw me out of my home
And you promised that you would never hurt me
Or leave me all alone.

And you promised you would call
To make sure that I was alright
I waited by the phone when you forgot
I sat there crying and dying all night

And I waited each day for the mailman
Until I realized you just had no heart
So don't lie and say you ever sent it
Because I should've known better from the start

I wanted more than anything to believe
That your next promise would be true
And I waited and waited for a year
And I just can't wait anymore for you.

I pray someday you'll realize
That you had so many things to do
And I tried to be patient
But I wasn't important enough for you.

Tears are so overrated now
And there's not enough room for another scar
I'm running out of words to bleed
To show you how amazing you are.

I just can't live like this any longer,
A girl that's in your past
But when nostalgia really hits you,
You'll see what you let pass

I promised time and time again
That you were worth my entire life
Now I'm keeping one last promise
And I'm using one last knife.
