Passive

by Strange Angel   May 16, 2006

Passive employee
Of life
You sit back and watch
The world pass you by
Minute by minute it's
Slipping away
Falls through you fingers like
Water.

Cascading and tumbling
Drenches you in opportunity
And still you gaze
Glassy eyed
And watch
Silently.

So detached
So numb
You struggle to feel
Alive.

Grasp out and hold it
Shake it and laugh with it
Joy
But you're the passive employee of life
And you sit back and watch
The world pass
You by.
