Pictures Under Dust

by MemoirsOfMe   May 17, 2006

These are those many memories
So long ago from the past
The moments in a vivid shot
Just those memories that didn't last

The things we cannot remember
The moments caught still in time
Those traces of the years
Replenishing the forgotten mind

We sweep off the abandoned pictures
Away from the accumulated dust
And stare at the single photo
That we only wish to trust

Were times as such?
Or was is just another act?
What did really happen those days?
Are they really that far back?

The answers are locked within
I just want to figure out
What those picutes hold
And what each and every one are about

I cannot unlock its mysteries
It's meant to stay under the dust
Though, remember,
They are merely picutes of the past

Wonderful poem. I love your stanza and the meaning of it. I also hate when you have to rely on pictures to remember things that your mind just won't let you, or even let go of things you want to forget. Great job!

(P.S. I added you to my favorites to, I love your writing! :D)
