Glory Days

by my_little_secret   May 19, 2006

Flashbacks.
Memories.
Glory days in times of yore.
How I iwsh I were back there now,
They seemed sunnier somehow.
No rain to dampen
No clouds to shadow
The sun always shone on us below.
Living, laughing, loving too
Now all that is gone for you.
And although we have our memories
Of pretty face and ready smile
Not yet worn by life or circumstance
You've travelled, before us, that last mile
To who knows where
And God knows why
For it's so unclear,
Why you had to die.
And there's not enough love in all of the world
To stop that mum grieving for her lost little girl
And all of the vengeance in all of the world
Can't bring back that father's cherished baby girl.
