Lest we Forget

by Golden 101   May 19, 2006

* this poem is about world war one and the brave soliders who fought in it, may we remember them always*

The whole world at war
people joining, without knowing
what will happen next?
They lived in trenches
2 meters deep
and sleeping with one eye open,
scared of what will happen next.
They fought with hate,
not knowing why,
killing people to stay alive.
The deadly time was gas attack,
when the chlorine burned the eye.
They fought for everything they had
yet no one ended up winning
only lives being lost.
Now the war is over,
The air is dead, grey
and the grass is the color of clay.
There is dead silence
as we stand to pray
for those who risked their
lives.

*Please tell me how you like it, I 'd always return the favor*
