It is Coming..

by The Flame Within   May 22, 2006

I lay awake as i stir and shake
not sure to make a decision to sleep

thoughts cross my mind as i try to find
a decision thats kind enough to stop me before i weep

well i contemplate in my head
whether i should keep living the life i have lead
there came a noise at my window seal
this quickly took my appeal as i tried to steal a look to what it may be

not sure at first to what i see
but quickly it starts to interest me

a moth, flapping and flutters, as i
watch and mutter "leave moth, go bother another"

its wings flap as it taps and taps
taps at my window as if it were trapped

once more i implore the moth
"go away leave my window, get off"

the moth lands on all 6 hands as
it stands shorty and then falls

death strikes again as i then realize
when it died that life is precious

time may end when no one may see it coming
running from death, as death is always cunning, as it is coming

it is truly stunning that as we are running we are shunning the coming death

but the inevitable is what we cannot avoid
because in time we are destroyed as we try to explore our life or whatever is left

i lay back down and whisper to myself
"poor moth, it simply got caught in the knot of life"

my eyes close as the wind feels cold
and the night gets old

time has come where my thoughts must cease as my body feels weak
i try to keep awake

but i can no longer resist, i release the grip in my fist, as i fall asleep with a thought that has a twist...

i am a moth that may tap at a window as if trapped with my wings trying to flap

but i can resist no longer
as death grows stronger, stronger
stronger yet as i ponder and wonder
as death gets stronger that time has come

come for me to no longer run
it is a stun, i am done,
my end has finally come
