Morning Drive

by Laura   May 22, 2006

I drive east into the rising sun
in the morning on my way to work
Leaving the security of my small town
to go into the city where dangers lurk

Speeding down a long stretch of highway
listening to the traffic report
For if there is an accident my primary route
I will have to quickly abort

As the bright glow of the sun
gets higher and higher in the sky
The forecasted temperature
has already reached the peak high

After almost a complete hour later
I have finally reached my destination
My workday has not even commenced
and I already feel like I need a vacation

A very...different kind of poem. It feels more like a miscellaneous poem. Great flow and great order of words

Very good job again. I liked the 3rd stanza alot.

And I can imagine wanting a vacation before work has even started, just from sitting in traffic. That would bug me tehe. Very nicely done again though, I'm enjoying your poems! 5/5
