Bright Red On Skin So Fair

by SmileeItsBritt   May 23, 2006

The strawberry gashes that Lie on my wrist
Are nothing to fear, I just couldn't resist.
The yelling the screaming -couldn't take anymore
A vivid painful flashback, of the pain felt before
A color so bright against skin so fair
Lined up in a row- cause I just didn't care
A White blood stained shirt, so hard to hide
Drowning in tears, in my life built of lies
Sometimes it gets hard to just put up a face
A smile so gentle In a life of disgrace
So smile oh smile, no don't shed a tear
if they dont see the truth, they have nothing to fear.
So laugh oh laugh like its a natural thing
No dont let them see the pain thats beneath.

Hmm very interesting. The beginning pulled me in, actually the title did haha, but anyways, I think it picked up nearing the end. I loved the ending. This one got to me, something stood out to me, I can't point out what, but son of a gun, I loved this poem lol.
