Teenage Years

by MemoirsOfMe   May 26, 2006

Time begins to grow short
We all start to move along
Season's change again
All while we never know where we belong.

It seems as if we're all lost
A big crowd to comb ourselves through
Yet we pretend to be 'okay'
And disobey our parents and break our curfew.

Teenage years are some of the hardest
It's where we rebel against who we are
We try to change into what we're not
Just to get the approval of our idols

Yet while some of us might deny it
Simply shrugging away what they are trying to be
We all know inside what it feels like
To never know the meaning of "Free"

Great poem. It was very insightful and truthful. Some people do try and become who they aren't and think that they are living. Wonderful poem. 5/5, I loved it.
