Jesus Will Answer

by melly xx   May 31, 2006

In her house
isolated, surrounded by farmland
she lay there in bed
watching the clock
waiting as the minutes tick by
7 more minutes until he comes in
until the pain is back
until she can taste
her salty tears all over again
every night, daddy comes in
forces her to touch him
mommy doesn't know
she's on a vacation
up in heaven
but this night was different
she ran outside
before he came in
into the fields of wheat
she ran until her legs gave up
and she fell to her knees
and prays
She prays to Jesus
the only one to turn to
who listens, because she believes
her Savior, her lord
Jesus Christ
all she can do is pray
and Jesus will answer
"Run away" he whispered
"Run away to the Holy Land,
where you will be free,
wash away your sin's,
and you will be with me."
She did run away
She is free

Aww. It says a lot. I can really tell that you put your heart into this one. It was like reading a verse from the bible. But in modern language. =P

The flow was good for the most part, and the imagery was wonderful. I felt as if I could really trust in the Lord, as sometimes I feel doubted. Very beautifully written poem. =) 5/5 xoxo
