Letting Go

by Jemma   May 31, 2006

Do you know how much it pains me
To always stand at the side?
Watching your life flicker past in one maddening blur
Too fast for me to understand what's going on

I've seen you so desperate for help
And it was always me that was there
But now I can't find the words to help
Can't find the right thing to do

I feel like I'm being washed up
As though I've forgotten the way the world works
Why can I not be there to help you?

I guess I miss the way things were
When we knew each other better than we knew ourselves
But now I've forgotten who I am
Lost the key to my secrets so they lie forgotten
Buried in the endless past
Passing characters in a larger story
And I'm reaching out as you walk away again
Oblivious to my anguish as I fight to let you go

**its not so much a break in friendship as a change that occurs naturally so i left this in other**
