Night

by Samantha Compton   Jun 9, 2006

As all lie down and rest their heads,
As children climb into their beds,
Releasing tension built up deep inside,
It is then I come alive.

As darkness turns the day to black,
The night reveals it's mysterious knack,
Calling out, to my senses it chimes,
It is them I come alive.

As heaven shrouds itself in clouds,
Slim fingers stretching toward the ground,
Dotting leaves in silver specks of captured candlelight,
It is then I come alive.

Moonlight casts an eerie glow,
Strains through my soul until I know
This night is relief, and into it I dive,
And then I am alive.
