Imaginary Love

by Samantha Compton   Oct 29, 2006

Secret Angel,
Unknowing star,
You give me comfort
From afar.
Your distant voice
Is soothing my pain,
Ignorance and care
Is your never ending game.
You set me on fire
Till I ache for more,
Unlocking my heart and
Opening the door.
Your perfumes caressing
My desperate senses,
Flooding my soul
With a grave dependence.
Subconsciously leading
Me on in a trance,
You fill all my pastimes
With imagined romance.
This black withered rose
You hold out with glee.
But I cannot take it
Because it's not meant for me.
