The words that were written on that piece of paper left her in tears
Telling her that he still couldnt let her go after all these years
She broke his heart and he couldnt move on
He gave her his life and thought they belonged

He tried to drink his pain away bits at a time
But no matter how drunk he couldnt get her off his mind
He reminded her of all the times shared
And all the moments that he actually thought that she cared

So the words written in blue were perfectly clear why
He couldnt stand to be alive
His heart had been broken in a million pieces just torn apart
Evidence was left all over the floor of every piece of his broken heart

Dear my love these words I write are for you
By the news, Im sure you already knew
My life has been drank away
You broke my heart thats all there is to say

I never could get drunk enough to quit missing
All those nights out on the docks together fishing
I have no strength or any faith to believe
Why baby did you have to leave

After she read this note she had no more tears to cry
Thinking what happened, why did she say goodbye
People didnt know how much she blamed
Her heart for taking his life away

She never could get drunk enough to quit missing
All those nights out on the docks fishing
She had no strength or any faith to believe
Why baby did I have to get up and leave

She ended her life as he did his
Without each other there was no point to live
Beside each other under that willow tree
Lay their graves because she had to leave
