Forgotten Memory

by simply crissyboo   Jun 13, 2006

Life is short,
Then you die,
You become a memory,
People cry,
They say they'll remember,
That they'll never forget,
On a cold day in December,
Rainy and wet,
They'll cry for your memory,
Tears of pain they weep,
They'll go to the cemetery,
to put flowers at your feet,
But only once a year,
When there's nothing else to do,
Only then will they remember,
A memory of you.

I like this poem, but just remember that its better to have someone remember you, then no one even knowing you

I really like this. I wrote a poem similar to this once...but I was a lot younger, and it didn't turn out very well. Yours is very well written.

I like the rhyming, and thought the rhythm was okay. I disagree with what you're saying though... people remember others for all sorts of reasons.. I mean I remember my dead DOG at completely random times, and that definitely isn't just once per year.
