Time To Go

by Mel   Jun 15, 2006

It's time to go;
time to leave.
Catch the last bus home
go to bed and grieve.

And when I get there
I'm prepared to stay there.
No TV
No Cds
Just me.

This is what you do;
you know which buttons to press.
I'd give my whole life to you.
In return you give me stress.

So I'll turn to my bed
and grieve.
No TV
No Cds
just me

and my phone
in case he leaves
and you want me.
A chance in a million.

A long sleep ahead:
Sleeping not so beauty
is what I've become.
You're my princess

in the arms of another man.
Damn.

    There were some rhythmic concepts which I had never considered before, and they worked out remarkably well. The poem had some repetition, the lines were small and clear, but you still managed to convey some great emotion, as though the poem spoke for itself without needing long, elegant words or anything...

    Great work!
