Elephant

by Helen   Jun 16, 2006

One and one and the other
Sun danced in the room where they
had painted for four years and
washed over them both
He could not smile when her lips
caressed his skin
There were no bystanders,
there was no time.

Silence whispered in their ears,
they agreed
that it as the both of them
that loved the other most.
Some misunderstanding, a memory
bathed in suffering.
So he watched her leave
Like petals torn from a rose.
