Effects of Failure

by Elyse H.   Jun 17, 2006

Good luck, cheer up
Don't let the sun set.
With backs turned, they all have words
of encouragement.

Oh no, let go
Bail the boat.
Face to face, they pace themselves
with panic.

Look right through.
Tell a lie.
Make believe its truth.
Tread lightly, the fire broke through.

Make a wish.
Blow a kiss
Up to the first star
That lights the night.

Hard times, sad eyes
Bright skies fade to hazy shades of dusk.
Eye to eye, the truth lies within a mirror
of failure.

Fake my life.
Incomplete.
I still believe
This will someday be
my happiness.

Dry my eyes.
Take a breath.
With one leap
it's back to insecurity
and wishful thinking.
