Phantom Heartbeats

by Absinth Eyes   Jun 17, 2006

Generic words leave my mouth
Your actions say nothing now
The sky is a thousand miles away
And this fate has changed

All around me are your markings
The same scent lingers in your wake
Your name is stained on the walls
But you are farther from here than ever before

The words don't know their own meaning
And we do not know how to use them
We are addicted to our conflicting ways
We are no longer the same, we are neither to blame

We say what each wants to hear
We hear what we want to believe
The phases without the finale
Shock, denial, anger, bartering, depression-

There will be no acceptance.

It took me a couple of read throughs to get the meaning of this one. It is really deep and powerful. Vocab choice gives a refreshing perspective.
