Mumbles and Mourners

by Sondos   Jun 18, 2006

The evil is growing, enlarging and bulging
With the blood of creamed roses and blooms
And beneath the illicit and ribbon tied gifts
The mourners have flocked to the tombs

The cameras are jarred and barred with jumbles
Of mumbles and knaves with stained swords
The stripes are running and dribbling timeless
Classical beauties they hoard

And will the children ever forgive us
For the myths and identity frauds?
A tongue black as tar and fingers sore
From lynches and curtain cords

That'll rip at the cloth and prick the dignity
Into warm moist water from wine
Penniless preaching and soured seagulls
This Quakerless silence is mine..

I was impressed by the flow of this poem, it really was well written. The words rolled right into eachother easing the separation between stanzas. I really enjoyed this poem. A brilliant write.
