Happy Fathers Day

by Disaster   Jun 18, 2006

Why cant I help but love you,
Even after every last hate filled word,
After every time you've broke my heart,
Left me bleeding, hurt,

I've cursed the ground you walk on,
And forgave you just the same,
Learned to live with out you,
In the same breath denounced your name,

Laid my heart separate from yours,
Like I've never known your face,
Pretending I don't hate you for all the nights,
Mom cried cause you came home late.

Every last broken promise,
And the memories I try to forget,
You disappear for these months on end,
yet expect us to pick up where we left?

Thank you for teaching me not to depend on someone,
To ever come and rescue me,
Because you could never be my superman,
Never be the father I still need.

I'm still your little girl daddy,
After every tear you've left me with,
I hate you more because I love you,
When all I want is to forget.

The nightmares where I wake up crying,
Never to fall back asleep,
Plaguing me through the younger years,
Still waiting in my dreams.

You cant fix what you've broken,
My shattered faith in you,
That men will always let me down,
The same way you used to do,

I forgave you for all the heart breaks,
For the very moment that you left,
When you walked straight out of my life,
But thats the moment i wont forget..
