Your birthday

by Nelle   Jun 19, 2006

Your birthday just passed
That night was a blast
You looked so pretty
Hopefully it wont be your last

You laughed and laughed
You were full of joy
You could tell you were happy
You could tell it's what you enjoyed

They brought your cake
She sang happy birthday
But, why is it when she did
My eyes filled with meaningless tears

I saw you sitting there smiling so big
The flames from the candles high in the wind
I watched you the whole time
And then I just couldn't win

Why did i cry when she sang to you
Why did i think that would be your last
If in case it ever is
That is one, that in my heart will forever last!

Very nice. I'm confused as to what it meant, or what you meant to say/how you were feeling in this poem, but it was still very good. I felt sad reading this poem, yet also inspired to appreciate life and apprieciate my friends more. Thanks!
