Silver Inches

by Sean Allen   Jun 19, 2006

Endless miles of money
may entice lesser men:
from CEOs to foreign marquis--
gold feet and silver inches
don't mean a thing to me.
I'm on my way, searching every day
to find some greater riches.

Gems in the deepest mines,
shells on that distant shore;
for some people that's all fine--
gold feet and silver inches--
but I'm looking for more;
I'm on my way, yearning every day
to find some lasting riches.

And on that day
I kiss your lips
I'll finally throw away
my golden feet, silver inches
and all that pointless money.
Through all this mess
I can now confess
that it's love that satisfies me.
