Roads of My Life

by Bill Turner   Jun 21, 2006

Running hard through the high desert plain
Trees and fields passing by like time eternal
Wind and sun upon my face taking me back
Living and running the road on my trusty steed
Shaking off the past, I can no longer feel my heart bleed

The road twists like the story of my life
Winding ever around the rocky shores
My iron horse held back only by me
Snorting and screaming through each turn
Living life with each lesson I learn

No matter which road I take
They all lead to the same place
All the paths lead me to you
I have traveled many a highway in my life
All of them leading to you, my future wife

What a beautiful poem bill. You always put your feeling into poetry in a way we can understand your experiences. And your furture wife is a very lucky woman. Most women can say their man didn't wite poetry for them. Loretta
