Memory

by Steve V   Jun 26, 2006

Nothing more than a memory
Serves as a beacon to remind
Visions long lost and forgotten
Draws you back to another time

For you have paved this road
A path that only you have walked
With a few others possibly
Sharing the same feelings or thought

It can enlighten a spirit
Or become the death of a heart
One thing for certain though
Something that you'll never part

Be it right, or be it wrong
Truths of love, misery or greed
Thoughts that linger internally
It serves a purpose to heed

A smile, a tear, a sigh, a fear
It is all yours to cherish
Love it, hate it, or embrace it
Memory will never let it perish

Just remember this
Time will mend and suture
Never forget the past
Or you'll relive it in the future
