Together at Last

Choking on the words
she never could just say
cuz deep down she knew
he never felt the same way

she cannot feel anymore
her tears now run dry
and the gun, her salvation
hanging near her thigh

she finds a pen and ink
to write a note to the guy
shes loved him for years
now she will say good-bye

"john i loved you so much
though you were never told
cuz i know u didnt love me

so now i end this with a tear
and a long with held sigh
i know we were still friends
but for me please do not cry"

when he found her there
clutching tightly to her note
he fell to his knees
holding a knife to his throat

for this was all his fault
that her body lay here, cold
when in came to talk of love
he had never been bold

tears streaming down
he asked himself why
he should have told her
not just leave her to die

he plunged the knife deep
images of her in his head
they could be together at last
in the land of the dead
