Just like rainbows

by Catastrophic Beauty   Jun 30, 2006

Just like for rainbows we make a journey,
In our lives in a search for special golds.
We call it friends and we eventually see,
A friend that we can have till we're old.

Your journey for that rare gold has finished,
You've found it at the end of that rainbow.
A true friend that you will always cherish,
And like gold their friendship always glows.

But eventually that rainbow starts to fade,
Fades into a sweet memory, moves away.
And all is left is the good times you made,
And all the reasons you want them stay.

The laughs, the stupid fights, the pictures,
Are just a bit of what is left as a memory.
The memories that made you cry a tear,
And ones that made you laugh constantly.

But another rainbow eventually appears,
And you follow it until you get to the end.
And to your surprise, after all these years,
You finally see your unforgettable friend.

It doesn't matter where your friends are,
Because the word distance is out to get you,
Making you believe that since you are far,
Away from them there's nothing you can do.

So don't think that since you can't be close,
To your friends that it's time to say goodbye,
Just remember the gold and rainbow most,
And try hard not to lose a friend. at least try.
