Whenever You Remember

by Emily Strickland   Jul 9, 2006

*This is my first poem in a long time. I know I'm a little rusty but I hope all my old fans enjoy hearing one from me again!*

Whenever you remember,
dont forget to remember me.
Remember all the times we had,
and all that we used to be.

Think back to what was promised.
A lifetime filled with love
Enough to fill the ocean,
or even the heavens above.

Laughter, smiles and happiness,
to last us both forever.
Never was there a dull moment,
whenever we were together.

Millions of dreams we shared,
that we worked hard to make come true.
Tons of talks about our lives,
and how there'd always be me and you.

But people move on in different directions,
just like they often do.
People begin to let go of what they once cherished,
even some people like you.

Now those promises are broken.
The many dreams left unfullfilled.
Hearts broken in a thousand pieces.
Spirits torn apart and killed.

So whenever you remember,
remember the girl you told goodbye.
The one that stands alone,
with nothing to do but cry.
