Let me tell you a story,
A story about a young girl,
About how she felt inside,
And how she kept it from the world.
Her emotions so deeply hidden inside
Everything appeared so complex,
How could she fight the inevitable?
Keep it from becoming a mess?
Feelings of dread and sadness,
Hurt, anger, hopelessness and despair.
Growing difficulty to keep moving forward,
To forget the past and maintain this pretentious care.
She couldn’t tell when to be happy,
Or even when to be sad.
Emotions were hidden among emotions,
Sometimes all she would feel was mad.
She was forever trekking her almost hidden path.
Disguised by thorned-roses and decay,
She felt so lost,
Not sure whether to run or to stay.
She did feel happiness,
Don’t get me wrong.
True happiness on the other hand,
Was not always so strong.
So she made a plan
To escape from all the evil in this world.
But only in her last moments did she realize,
All that she was leaving behind.
She looked up to the heavens,
Seeking answers through blurry eyes.
She waited, heard and saw nothing.
Silence, was her only reply.
