The Blame To Fame

by SmileeItsBritt   Jul 11, 2006

Lay the blame on the innocent
Now I fear its not your fault
Decency came second nature
In this battle we both fought.
Always pointing fingers
The intentions were so right
Who knew we'd get so twisted
In this life of tears and fights
Telling each others stories
Through an eye thats all too blind
Which one holds the truth?
And which one speaks the lies?
Under false pretenses we crumble
As if being true just wasnt recognized
How can we make these accusations?
When were both just hiding in disguise?
So let's run, lets run away from here,
It doesnt matter if we trust
For no matter what happens next
Well fade away and turn to dust.

I liked this one too. You know, you're really changing my perspective on friendship poems. I usually steer away from them, but with each one of yours I read, I fall in love with them, haha. Yours aren't all mushy "oh she's my best friend!!" poems, they hold MEANING, they hold TRUTH, but in a sophisticated way. One thing though, in the line, "Who knew wed get so twisted" "wed" should be "we'd". Otherwise, it's like saying "I wed him" (married him..I'm sure you knew what I meant haha)

Anyways, another great write Dear. You're inching close to your goal of getting on my favorites. :P

I love the idea behind this.
Live for the moment; No matter what happened in the past.

Your vocab was excellent and your flow rocked as always.
