A Testimony

by Jade Eyes   Jul 15, 2006

Stop Whispering broken promises to me,
Hearts eventually stop believing.
My heart stopped believing a long time ago.
You can't undo this awful hurt.
You don't believe you truly hurt me,
Look! Do you see?!
A testimony of hurt embedded in my arm,
Never to leave.
Never to fade away.
Angry tears sealed the wounds,
And broken hearts pretended to be whole.
My eyes were red and swollen at night when I was alone in my dark room.
Silently I tore into my skin,
Slicing my hurt into it again and again.
For every hurtful word,
Another letter added to the message in my skin,
If you look at the slices just right,
You'll see a message.
My world isn't right,
And you know it too.
You say you care how I feel,
And you always ask whats wrong.
Stop acting like you want me here,
No worries,
I'll soon be gone.
Then you no longer have to pretend,
Look,
Look again,
This testimony of hurt embedded in my skin.
