Try Not To Make A Mess

by Jade Eyes   Dec 7, 2006

Lame excuses is all I got,

For the bruises that show.

I say I accidently tripped down the stairs,

You nod and murrmur like you actually care.

You'd never guess that they're self inflickted,

For false crimes that I've been convicted.

You yell and scream in my face,

You don't realizethat mean words leave a trace.

Wars wage deep within,

I try not to give in,

But that razor felt like a blessing against my skin,

As I pulled it across my arm time and time again.

One day I'll let the razor "slip,"

And as my soul bounds out of Life's front door,

I promise I'll try not to make a mess on the floor.
