On our last day

On our last day i saw you but late
i smiled as you walked in the room
because if you hadn't of made the date
my life would be filled with gloom

On our last day i had to say bye
before my world was filled with dark
its a memory that will make me sigh
and burn my heart with a painful mark

On our last day we laughed like before
as if nothing was going to be
ignoring the fact that makes my mind sore
ignoring what we needed to see

On our last day the mood turned to sad
when we realised it was time to leave
to stay with you would make me so glad
but instead im forced to grieve

On our last day we smiled with sad faces
as i opened the door to go
once i had taken a couple of paces
i turned quick but it all, seemed slow
"If you ever see me again"
"You will have to say hi"
you smiled but behind your eyes i saw pain
"Of course i will", paused, then "goodbye"
