Hold My Hand Tonight.

by Daphne Darling   Jul 19, 2006

If I die today,
If I die tomorrow,
Will you call my name?
Will you shout my shame?
Is this the end of our song?
Is this true?
If I cry today,
If I cry tomorrow,
Will you throw me away?
Will you shun my name?
I don’t think it's real,
What are you saying?
This is not a path,
This isn't where we’re meant to be,
Cross that line with me,
Jump off the edge with me,
Hold my hand tonight.

If I told you,
If I warned you,
Would you comply?
Would you reply?
Isn’t that your queue?
Isn’t that your call?
If I claimed your name,
If I denied your shame,
Would you arrive?
Would you grieve?
I'm not sure this is right,
Are you for real?
Questions mar your face,
And hide your sins,
Jump off the edge with me,
Hold my hand tonight.

If I ran away,
If I screamed away,
Would you run with me?
Would you scream with me?
So this is your truth?
So this is your lie?
I'm not that surprised,
I'm not that phased,
If I denied your name,
If I proclaimed your shame,
Would you cry?
Would you die?
This is the question on my lips,
Answer it and I'll rejoice,
Jump off the edge with me,
Hold my hand tonight.
