Secret.

by Rawan   Jul 20, 2006

I will always keep your secret, but I will always hurt inside.

I look into moms eyes and wish I hadn't lied.

You come home stumbling on the rug.

I help you to bed.

So worried about you, I thought you were dead.

With vodka on your breath, I give you a hug.

To you disobeying is the sweetest drug.

I can't do anything in your despair.

You go out every night as I say a prayer.

In both blood and spirit we are related.

But when you come home I just feel hated.

This isn't you, I don't know you anymore.

Our friendship is gone, you closed the door.

I'll always keep your secret but this is your last strike.

You're on your own.

Now you'll know what I feel like.

Great poem, really honest to goodness, great poem. I really like the emotion that you can feel coming from the poem and how you described things just barely precisecly enough to give imagery to the reader. It is overall a great poem, so good job
    5/5 undoubtedly
