Freaks at Night

by Bill Turner   Jul 22, 2006

While the working class is sleeping
All the freaks come out at night
Flinging themselves into the abyss
Thumping and bumping to the beat
A constant moving of their feet

Sadly misjudged by most of society
Swimming outside the mainstream
Fighting against the overwhelming current
Something burning inside will not let them bend
Scarred by life, society and wounds that will not mend

Avoiding the judgment and suburban plight
Preferring to buck every little trend
Stronger than anyone dare to see
Survivors of the demons that chase thee
Living their life underground and free

Do not judge until you have felt their pain
Walk a while with this wonderful crowd
There is much to learn from outside the norm
Expand your life and keep growing within
You might make a new friend and find your grin

Words of truth everyone should learn, to live by . Reminded me of the old saying " never judge a book by it's cover "....

Wonderfully written, as always, my friend .....

Wow, absolutely loved this poem. Not many dare to look at the other siden of the tracks. They may have to look inside and take a good looka at their prejudices. Not something many will do unless forced. Awesome job. Loretta
