Let you Down

by BrokenMisery   Jul 24, 2006

Strike the match and watch the destruction,
As everything you created, burns away
Fuel the fire, its shimmering passion;
The flames can't be concealed,
Your lies can't be healed,
As your gravestone marks the day.

Your pearl white innocence specked with impurities,
Of the lies your insides spilt.
Your eyes shared your inabilities.
You tried to keep the hurt inside,
With yourself to confide,
But you can't quiet the guilt.

And as we sing a requiem to you
One last time,
Your nailed wooden cage is lowered to the ground
But in the end,
It was me that let you down.
