Lunar Brilliance

by Thoughtless Consideration   Jul 24, 2006

The moon gazes down at
This Earth,
Sending pure white light.

The night is torn apart
By the moonlight that
Chases away the dark.

The stars all wink and smile
And the night starts to go wild.

The sleeping animals are startled
Into life,
They are summoned by the
Moon's wondrous mind.

The light drifts gently to my bedroom window,
I wake with a start.

I follow the light to my dream,
The light that eats up the dark.

My eye winks back at one of the stars,
I hold up my hand and brush a finger against Mars.

"What brillians," I mutter the words to a sleeping galaxy.
"This moon gives brilliance for all of Earth to see."

Just allow the pure white light
To startle you out of sleep,
And back into life.
