Lingering Loneliness

by Jennifer Dziak   Jul 25, 2006

Silently screaming, this decision lingers on my tongue.
Martyred by the secrets that forever remain hung.
Seen, but unheard, voices speak words I dare not repeat.
My silent prayer whispering those words of deceit.
Decayed, battered, and bruised my beliefs fall in a tear.
The pain suffered wasting away that agonizing fear.
Alone in a crowded room I linger on regret.
Their accusing eyes leave me alone to die, but not forget.
