Chains

by Sarah   Jul 26, 2006

She held him close to her heart
but he was so hard to hold
She couldnt continue that path
So the truth had to be told

She knew it wouldnt be easy
If they went there seperate ways
She knew he would pursue her
each and every day

He had lost a part of himself
a few years before
His twin brother had died
His heart was already worn

She never wanted to hurt him
she did what had to be done
She never really thought
that he would reach for that gun

The look in his eyes that night
she just could place
His eyes told a sad story
that no one could help erase

When one chooses to end a life
if they could only see what remains
A burden much heavier
A life now bound by chains
