Keep Holding On Strong

by Carmen   Jul 28, 2006

She sighed and shifted her gaze,
then rested her head on the desk.
It was one of those days
where she felt like no one liked her.

Her tangled hair
fell across her face.
I looked at her
and felt strong pity.

In a glance,
I saw her wrists,
she sadly felt the need
to slit.

I heard her stomach grumble
amid the chatter of the class.
She thought she was fat,
but she was beautiful and thin.

At that moment,
I tore out some paper
and scribbled a note
that said, "I LOVE YOU."

She glanced at it
and smiled weakly.
She looked too tired
to try to speak.

I felt that I did my part
to win a place in her heart.
The poor girl comes from a broken home, and I want her to keep holding on, strong.

I support my friend,
I love her so.
I never want her
to try to let go.
